West Beaverton sits just west of downtown Beaverton south of Highway 26, the Highway that goes into downtown Portland. This is primarily a residential community with most services and amenities located on the intersection of SW. Allen Blvd. and SW. Murray Blvd. Here you will find a Safeway, liquor store, Central market convenience store, Right Aid, and several restaurants and fast food markets.
West Beaverton is also home to the Lowami Hart Woods Natural Area and Johnson Creek, which runs north and south through West Beaverton. The nature areas a 28 acre forested and wetland natural area developed in 2013. It has walking trails, wildlife viewing, bathrooms and extends north and south through the whole park with a new bridge constructed on the southern end of the trail near a pedestrian access point from SW. Hart Rd.
Another unique park actually starts in Sexton Mountain, a neighborhood just south of West Beaverton. This narrow strip of Park runs north and south up through West Beaverton through Burntwood Park and up to Schuepbach Park and the Village LN Trailhead and Westside Regional Trail.
These two parks are also connected to Mount Williams Park, Thornbrook Park and two other sections of Burntwood Park. All of these parks are interconnected with a winding trail system offering miles of walking, jogging, and biking trails. Many of these parks also have playground equipment and picnic tables.

Residents of West Beaverton are part of the Beaverton School District and most students are assigned to the Chehalem elementary school, located right in the neighborhood, the Mountain View middle school, and the Beaverton high school. The Valley Catholic school and the Faith Bible Christian school are also located close to or within about 1/2 a mile from most homes in West Beaverton.
