Bethany is a neighborhood in Northwest Portland just north of Hillsboro and Beaverton and one of the more popular communities in the Portland metro area. Touted as one of the best suburbs to live in the state of Oregon, Bethany is home to about 26,000 residents and is located about 4 miles northeast of Cedar Mill in about 25 minutes from downtown Portland depending on the freeway.

If you're looking to live in a smaller, unincorporated suburb of Portland, Bethany might be exactly what you're looking for. It's known for its parks, highly rated public school systems, which happened to be Beaverton, and a great quality of living with a variety of home styles to choose from. Bethany is extremely diverse with home options and different neighborhoods within Bethany and most of these neighborhoods are less than 100 or fewer homes. There are a few condominium and apartment buildings as well in addition to services and amenities. One of the more prestigious neighborhoods in Bethany is Arbor Heights, a large neighborhood with homes starting at about $900,000. Bethany Ridge is a high-end, luxury neighborhood with homes starting about $1 million. Bethany is also home to Claremont Golf Club within the active 55+ community of Clermont.

Bethany is part of the Beaverton school district because it's closer to Beaverton than a lot of the Metro Portland schools. Most students are assigned to Findlay elementary which receives a 9 out of 10 migrates important, Stoler Middle school, also high-ranking, and Sunset High school. All of these schools receive excellent reviews and ratings by parents and students. This is another reason why Bethany is very popular with families with school-age kids.

"Bethany is a very safe neighborhood nearby many schools, so it's convenient to get education for children. It's near several small centers like Bethany Village that has a small selection of grocery stores and restaurants. Downtown Portland is around a 30 minutes drive, and there are universities close by as well. There's a nice trail area for walking and running, and it's safe too. It's not too diverse, but it's becoming more diverse. There are big companies around like Nike, but they're around a 20 minuted drive away. Good place to raise children and work close to many different stores and schools but can be a little small." Niche.com
