North Bethany has a population of about 23,000 people and is part of the Portland metropolitan area. It is known for its high median household income and low poverty rate. The homeownership rate is 74%, which is above the national average of 63%. The average age range in Bethany is 38. It is a diverse community in its ethnic composition. About 73% of residents in Bethany are married and more than half the families have kids under 18 years old. Part of the diversity in Bethany is the number of tech companies and universities in the metro Portland area which attracts all of the skilled workers and students from inside and outside the country. 

North Bethany is small but very diverse in its home options and neighborhoods. Choosing the best neighborhood for your budget will be one of the biggest priorities if you are moving, but you will have plenty to choose from. There are a number of condos and apartment buildings. Most of the communities are smaller with 100 or fewer homes in them. There are larger homes and estates available and usually located near one of Bethany’s many family-friendly parks.  One of the best neighborhoods in Bethany is called Arbor Heights. This is a large community that features spacious homes, usually starting in the $800’s. Another great neighborhood is Bethany Ridge and it offers new luxury constructions with homes that can price up to $1.4 million. The Claremont Golf Club is a 9 hole public golf course that has a popular adult resort community for 55+ only. 

The climate in Bethany is similar to the rest of the Portland area. It offers a temperate oceanic climate. The summers are warm and dry and the winters are chilly, overcast, and rainy. If you are moving from elsewhere in the Pacific Northwest, Bethany has less rain and snow and more sunshine than other PNW areas. 

There are many fun places to visit in Bethany. There is the PCC Rock Creek Recreation Facility. This is a 32-acre rec facility that offers baseball and softball fields, synthetic turf fields for soccer, an archery range, tennis courts, and a dog park and picnic area. It is a perfect place to be active as a family. Pirate Park is a 16-acre park in the Rock Creek Greenway and is one of the best things to do in Bethany if you have kiddos. 

No matter what you are looking for, North Bethany has it to offer. It should be at the top of your list of places to visit in the Pacific Northwest, and definitely a contender if you are looking to move.
